To set up this clash with Cerundolo, Husler defeated the darling of the crowd Ryan Peniston by the loss of five games. The win moved him up two places to number 81 in the live ranking. Advancing from this tie will set up a quarterfinal showdown with either Maxime Cressy, Lorenzo Sonego, or Zhizhen Zhang.
