Francisco Cerundolo is making inroads in the hardcourt season and will next meet Alex de Minaur, at the BNP Paribas Open. This will be a fourth round match, marking a second meeting between the two. We have a prediction for the match below.

Cerundolo is facing De Minaur for the second time this season after suffering defeat at the Australian Open. The Argentine will be targeting revenge but that, against a top 10 player, may be a target so high.

A clay specialist, Cerundolo has adapted easily at Indian Wells. He beat Botic Van de Zandschulp in straight sets in the third round. That marked his fourth win in six hardcourt matches this season, raising his numbers to 12-5.

Australian Alex de Minaur, on his eighth Indian Wells appearance, will present Cerundolo’s toughest test at this event this season.

He is coming off two straight-set wins, the most recent being against Hubert Hurkacz, lasting just under 1.25 hours. The ninth seed has now spent 2 hours and 27 minutes on the court.

That is over 1.5 hours less than Cerundolo at Indian Wells. It should work well for De Minaur as he sets out to claim a second win over the Argentine.

De Minaur also comes into this match with the better record at 15-4 for the season with 18 of his matches having been on hardcourts.
