France and the United States will bring their Olympic Games Women’s volleyball group stage to an end when they face off on Sunday afternoon. Les Bleus are at the bottom of Pool A with no points yet while Team USA are third with three points. Let’s get into the match prediction.

The French are on the verge of exiting the women’s volleyball competition at the 2024 Olympics, having lost both group-stage matches so far without winning a single set. 

Against Serbia, Les Bleus went down 25-17, 25-17, 25-22, while against China they failed to crack 20 points in any of the three sets. With those results, France are now on a six-match losing streak and have won just one of their last 10 games in all competitions.

The Olympic hosts have faced their upcoming opponents once in the past, which was at the Nations League last year. They lost the match 3-0. 

Meanwhile, Team USA enter the final round of the group outside the automatic qualification spots, though a win and three points will definitely see them finish in the top two. 

The defending champions suffered an opening-round loss (3-2) against China, and were made to work hard in the second game as well, where they edged past Serbia 3-2. 

USA have now won seven of their last 10 matches in all competitions and are massive favourites heading into this tie.
