France vs Serbia Prediction & Betting Tips - Olympic Games Women

Exactly as we saw in the men’s competition, France and Serbia will lock horns in their opening match of the women’s volleyball competition at Paris 2024 on Sunday. Les Bleus are ranked 19th in the world standings, while the White Eagles are ninth. Here’s our prediction of the hosts' chances.

It promises to be a historic moment for France as they embark on their first-ever Olympic Games volleyball tournament having qualified as the host nation.

However, Les Bleus face a daunting task in Pool A drawn alongside defending gold medalists USA, three-time Olympic winners China, and the reigning world champions Serbia. 

Additionally, France have been in very poor form on the world stage in recent times, suffering four consecutive defeats in the lead-up to the Games, while winning only one of their last 12 in all competitions. 

Thus, despite being the host nation, it is fairly unsurprising to see Les Bleus showing up as one of the biggest outsiders to earn a medal at this year’s competition. 

Serbia, on the other hand, will be looking to secure their first-ever gold medal following their world championship triumph. They qualified for the Games as Pool A runners-up at the FIVB Road to Paris Volleyball Qualifiers. 

The White Eagles have split their last 10 games five wins and five losses, and have only lost one of their last 11 against this opponent.
