France vs Serbia Prediction & Betting Tips - Men's Olympic Tournament

Paris 2024 Olympics hosts France will get their gold medal defence started when they take on Serbia on Sunday afternoon. Les Bleus enter their first match ranked fourth in the world while the Eagles are 10th. Here’s our prediction for this Pool A opener.

At the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, France overcame Russia to win the gold. Their title defence will now require them to navigate Pool A which features Canada, Slovenia and Serbia. 

Les Bleus have been in sensational form in the lead-up to this competition, having won the 2024 Volleyball Nations League just last month in Lodz, beating Japan 3-1 in the final. They are now on a five-match winning streak and have won seven of their last 10. 

France have got the best of Serbia in recent times, winning the last two encounters between the nations, both with a 3-1 scoreline. 

Meanwhile, Serbia are returning to the Olympic Games for the first time since the 2012 edition, featuring several players who were part of their squad 12 years ago in London. 

The Eagles qualified for Paris as one of the best four teams in the FIVB World Ranking not yet qualified. They have won two medals in the past, including bronze in 1996 and gold in Sydney 2000.

Serbia lost their last two matches at the Nations League and have a record of six wins and four losses in their last 10 matches in all competitions.
