France vs Romania Prediction & Betting Tips - Euro Volley

France take on Romania for the second time in these 2023 European Volleyball Championships.  They met in the pool stage and now face each other in the quarter finals. The winners will be up against either  Italy or the Netherlands in the last four. France are ranked seventh in the world which is 16 places higher than their opponents. The French side are the reigning Olympic champions and get to defend that title next year as hosts. It's eight years since they last won the European title and since then only once have they got past this stage. They finished top of Pool D winning four of their five matches. The one that got away was a 3-1 loss to Romania so it's time for some revenge in this quarter final. That's more than likely to be achieved as Romania only scored four points more than France in that pool game. The last 16 saw France beat Bulgaria in straight sets and only lost 57 points. Their coach wasn't happy with their pool displays and a much better performance was seen in the last 16, that doesn't sound good news for Romania.

Romania are having their best European Championships in 28 years. They ended the 2019 championships in 19th place and didn't qualify at all two years ago. Romania probably didn't expect to reach the last eight after losing their first two matches in Pool D. They fought back well though, particularly getting the surprise win over France. That took them into the last 16 where they beat Croatia in which they lost a two-set lead and eventually won 15-12 in the final set. Can Romania beat France again, It looks unlikely and we go for the French side to win the first set and go onto complete victory.
