France vs New Zealand Prediction & Betting Tips - Test Matchs
by Nella Wagah | in Rugby Predictions
The Autumn Nations Series is finally here, serving a number of tantalising games. In the standout match of the series opener, France will host the 2023 Rugby World Cup finalists New Zealand. In this preview, we will also offer a prediction for the Les Bleus v All Blacks Saturday clash at Stade de France.
This match will be a repeat of the opening game of the 2023 Rugby World Cup where Les Blues secured victory. New Zealand who are on the ascendency will be out to avenge the loss to end a lukewarm year on a high.
France, on the other hand, will be hoping to extend their recent impressive record against New Zealand. France beat New Zealand in their last two meetings and another win here will send a huge statement as the last time they managed three victories in a row against New Zealand was back in 1995.

France - New Zealand: Form Analysis
Les Blues are coming from a 52-12 demolition of Japan back in early October at the Stade de France where they are yet to taste defeat this year. Their last loss at the stadium was in the quarter-finals of the Rugby World Cup when they fell to eventual champions South Africa.
Prior to the massive win against Japan, Les Blues had lost 33-25 to Argentina in a test match staged in Buenos Aires. France are on the cusp of securing a rare three-peat against the All Blacks.
In their most recent meeting, at the 2023 World Cup, Thomas Ramos was instrumental in the 27-13 win.
France, targeting a third straight win against New Zealand, haven't lost at Stade de France in 2024!
All Blacks on the other hand are unbeaten since the back-to-back defeats to World Champions South Africa in the Rugby Championship. Their resurgence has seen wins against Australia twice, Japan, England and most recently Ireland.
The 23-13 win over Ireland was largely aided by Damian McKenzie who scored 18 points from his boot. Only in-form full-back Will Jordan managed a touchdown in the game for New Zealand with head coach Scott Robertson looking to streamline his attack.
New Zealand had enjoyed some dominance against France prior to the last two meetings, going on a 13-match winning streak. The run lasted from the 2007 World Cup where France stunned the All Blacks in the quarter finals.

France & New Zealand Squad Analysis
France will have the luxury of selecting Antoine Dupont who returned in last weekend's win over Japan. Dupont is coming from a highly successful summer where he guided the France 7s team to gold at the Paris Olympics.
Les Blues, however, suffered a double whammy with two players ruled out of the New Zealand game. They will miss the services of Francois Cros and Damian Penaud.
Cros was in the starting lineup against Japan last time out but was hooked off at halftime with a head injury. Penaud, on the other hand, is yet to recover from an illness.
While both nations will miss key men, Antoine Dupont's availability is big for France.
New Zealand also have their injury woes with flanker Sam Cane and winger Mark Tele’a ruled out. Cane, 32, is playing his final international season before moving to Japan.
For this match, his likely replacement will be Peter Lakai, the 21-year-old gearing up for only his second cap. Adding to the injury list is Sam Darry, who has left camp after suffering a knee injury. Darry’s place will be snapped up by Fabian Holland.
With the experienced TJ Perenara in the squad, New Zealand’s inexperienced scrum-halves should be able to cope.

Our France vs New Zealand Prediction
The All Blacks will look to end the year on a high by winning all their Autumn Nations Series to cap off a mixed year. They will miss a number of key players in this match but the squad has capable replacements. Their superior head-to-head record against France should have an impact on their confidence too. While Les Blues will be banking on their impressive form at Stade de France, this has the hallmarks of one tough encounter. Our prediction for France v New Zealand is a win for New Zealand.
France vs New Zealand - Other Interesting Predictions
New Zealand to win the first half
Adding to New Zealand’s dominance is their strong start to matches, which has seen them win in the first half of their last 1o fixtures. Their last defeat in the first half came against England back in July where the Red Roses scored a last-gasp try.
All Blacks have also won in the first half in each of their last four away games. As an alternative bet, go for New Zealand to win the first half.
