France vs Italy Prediction & Betting Tips - United Cup

France take on Italy and both countries still have a chance of reaching the quarter finals of the United Cup. It's the French side that are in the driving seat in Group D after winning their opening game against Germany. The Germans then beat Italy 2-1 but the Italians can still qualify if beating France. This final game of Group D begins with Adrian Mannarino taking on Italy's Lorenzo Sonego. Both players lost their opening singles match with them being beaten by world number seven Alexander Zverev. Mannarino had a far more successful 2023 than his opponent, winning three titles. Lorenzo Sonego's best performance was reaching the semi-finals in Umag but that was on clay and this is being played on a hard court. Sonego leads 2-1 in previous meetings but the only match played on a hard court was won by Mannarino.

The other singles match sees Caroline Garcia face Italy's Jasmine Paolini. Garcia is the higher ranked player of the two and won her singles match against Germany and then won the deciding mixed doubles with Edouard Roger-Vasselin. Jasmine Paolini also beat Angelique Kerber but didn't play in the doubles. Garcia ended 2023 with some strong performances and is ranked higher than her opponent and should be able to beat Paolini. As for the mixed doubles, France again look to have the edge and we believe they can win this tie to guarantee finishing top of the group and progressing into the last eight.
