France vs China Prediction & Betting Tips - Olympic Games Women

Host nation France will take on China in the second round of matches in the women’s volleyball competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Thursday afternoon. Les Bleus are bottom of Pool A and are still in search of their first point, while the Chinese are second with two points. Here’s our match prediction for this second-round encounter. 

France’s first appearance on the grandest stage of them all did not go as they would have hoped, as they suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the formidable Serbia. 

Les Bleus were evidently the inferior team in the matchup as the Eagles stormed to a two-set lead conceding just 17 points in each. The hosts put up a better contest in the third but to no avail as they went down 25-22. 

That result marked France’s fifth defeat on the bounce in all competitions and ninth in their last 10. The only side they have beaten since mid-May is Serbia. 

Meanwhile, China pulled off one of the biggest results in the first round as they overcame the defending gold medalists USA in an enthralling five-set showdown on Monday afternoon. 

The Asian side shot out the blocks to a two-set lead but Team US secured the next two to set up a grandstand final set. China held their nerve, though, coming out on top 15-13. 

China have now won four of their last five matches and seven of their last 10.
