Formula 1 returns to the Home of Motorsport in the Middle East for the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon. Lando Norris leads the 2025 Driver standings with 62 points, just one point ahead of Max Verstappen in second place, while Oscar Piastri is third with 49 points. Let’s get into the race prediction.

We could see a major shake-up in the early-season driver standings at the Bahrain International Circuit this weekend after Lando Norris struggled during qualifying and only managed P6 for this Sunday’s Grand Prix. 

The Brit cut a frustrated figure after his qualifying session and admitted during the post-qualifying press conferences that he was way off his mark and hadn’t felt comfortable in any lap this weekend. 

However, McLaren was still the class act of the field, with Norris’s teammate Oscar Piastri clinching pole position with a lap time of 1m 29.841s, two-tenths of a second ahead of Mercedes’ George Russell. 

Ferrari would have been ecstatic with Charles Leclerc’s effort of 1:30.175s, which was good enough for third, ahead of a couple of stunning performances by Kim Antonelli and Pierre Gasly in P4 and P5, respectively. 

It was another tough day at the office for Red Bull, who were off the pace throughout. Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda only managed seventh and 10th, respectively, either side of Carlos Sainz (P8) and Lewis Hamilton (P9).
