Saturday’s Currie Cup action gets underway at the Mbombela Stadium where the Pumas will be playing host to the Sharks. The hosts currently lead Pool B with 15 points while the visitors are third with nine points after the first four weeks. Here’s our match prediction. 

The Pumas put in another commanding performance last weekend, romping to a 66-26 victory over Griquas to move into third place in the competition overall. 

That result followed a trip to Durban, where they beat their upcoming opponents 31-21. Their only defeat to date came in week two when they were stunned by the Lions 75-21 here in Nelspruit. 

For several seasons now, the Pumas attack has been their greatest weapon and we can expect to see expansive play from the hosts here, especially given their psychological advantage having taken down this opponent on their home patch a couple of weeks ago. 

Meanwhile, the Sharks finally got themselves in the win column last week when they managed to pull off an against-the-odds victory over the in-form Lions at Ellis Park. 

The result took the Durbanites above Western Province into fifth overall thanks to their five bonus points earned so far, which is the most of any side in the division. 

While the Pumas have won the most recent two matches between these sides, the Sharks came out on top the last time they faced the Pumas here at the Mbombela Stadium.
