Florida Panthers vs Pittsburgh Penguins Prediction & Betting Tips - NHL

The 11-11-3 Pittsburgh Penguins head to the 15-8-2 Florida Panthers as they look to end a streak of frustrating defeats. They lost twice to the Philadelphia Flyers in overtime which would have hurt before they headed to Florida to take on the Tampa Bay Lightning in the early hours of Thursday morning, a game they lost 3-1. They had won in Tampa on the final day of November 4-2 but have lost all three games since. They were one of the top road franchises not so long ago but have failed to win five of their last six in the road now and eight of their last 11 games overall. They have only scored 13 goals in those eight losses which is a huge concern for a team full of firepower.
The Panthers are coming off a 5-4 win over the Dallas Stars with this the final leg of a three game home stand. They went on a five game winning streak in early-mid November but they have struggled for consistency since, losing 3 of their last 4 on home ice. They have generally been strong on the blue line this season, well inside the top 10 when it comes to goals against. Sam Reinhart is having a career year to lead the team in points with 32, including 12 multi point games in the first 25 played. He only got 19 all of last season, having played all 82. The likes of Alexander Barkov, Matthew Tkachuk and Carter Verhaeghe have all been contributing which makes them dangerous and too good a team to be inconsistent for long.
