Fenerbahce will welcome Paris Basketball for Game 1 of their best-of-five EuroLeague playoff first-round matchup. The Turkish giants have home-court advantage and host the first two games. Read on for our prediction of this match.

Fenerbahce won both meetings with Paris during the regular season. Both games were, however, not straightforward, as their largest point margin was four. In their most recent meeting, less than a month ago, Fener battled to secure a nervy 101-100 victory.

The Turkish giants, therefore, understand they are up for a dogfight. Sarunas Jasikevicius’s men finished the regular season with the second-best record. They won 23 of 34 games and were 12-5 at home.

Paris got into the playoffs via the play-in tournament. Tiago Splitter’s men shocked Real Madrid on the road in the seventh and eighth seed battle. The French outfit, making its EuroLeague debut, were 81-73 winners in the Spanish capital.

Paris finished with the eighth-best record in the regular season after winning 19 of their 34 fixtures. Guard T.J. Shorts is coming off being named MVP of the play-in.

The American had 23 points and nine assists against Madrid. Shorts and Fener’s Nigel Hayes-Davis were named in this year’s All-EuroLeague First Team and will be ones to look out for in this series.
