Round 23 of the 2023/24 Euro League basketball season will have Fenerbahce Beko at home against Virtus Bologna. Coming into this match, Bologna are third in the standings while Fener are fifth. Fenerbahce got back to winning ways last time out as they defeated Pinar Karsiyaka 93-63 in the Turkish Super Ligi. The win, their 14th in the domestic topflight, allowed them to remain within one point of top spot. Sarunas Jasikevicius’ men had lost to Zalgiris last time out in the Euro League and that defeat ended a five-game winning run. Fener have been dominant in the continent when playing at home where they have so far compiled a 10-1 record. Dyshawn Pierre will miss this game and is expected to be out for a lengthy period due to a hamstring problem.

Virtus Bologna have won two of the three most recent meetings with Fenerbahce. They won the first season matchup 87-79 back in November at home. They will hope for the same outcome though they did lose the last time they were in Istanbul. Luca Banchi’s men have settled their nerves recently after a wobbly start to the year. Bologna defeated ASVEL 73-63 last time out in the Euro League to end a two-game skid in the division. It was their 15th victory of the season and only league leaders Real Madrid have won more. Virtus, who are averaging 81.6 points a game, are however struggling playing away from home. Six of their seven defeats have come on the road.
