The EuroLeague matchday 27 sees seventh-place Fenerbahce playing host to eighth-placed Baskonia with both teams chasing an automatic playoff qualification spot. Fenerbahce find themselves on the cutoff point as they sit seventh with a 15-11 record, tying them with sixth-place Olympiakos but trailing on point differential. Baskonia’s 14-12 record has them right behind Fenerbahce in eighth-place. The top six positions in the EuroLeague automatically qualify for the playoffs while eighth through tenth-place have to take part in the play-in tournament to qualify.

Fenerbahce come into this matchup on a four-game winning streak in the Turkish Cup and Turkish Super League following an 80-67 win over Anadolu Efes. However, they suffered defeat in their last two EuroLeague appearances after falling 76-69 to Monaco, followed up with a 74-63 defeat to Greek side Panathinaikos, both on the road. The Yellow Canaries will hope that a return to the Ulker Sports Arena will give them a much-needed lift as they have posted a stellar 11-1 record when playing in front of the home crowd.

Baskonia come into this matchup looking to build some consistency as the Spanish club has failed to string together consecutive wins in their recent appearances. Their last outing resulted in a narrow 81-78 loss to Joventut in the Liga ACB, marking the team’s second defeat in their last three games. The upside is that Baskonia have recorded victories in their last two EuroLeague games after beating Maccabi Tel-Aviv 92-82 in the beginning of February and ASVEL by a score of 94-80 a week later. Both victories took place on Baskonia’s home court, improving their record to 8-6 in their home gym. On the road, Baskonia has suffered defeat in five of their last seven in the EuroLeague, moving their road record to 6-6 in the competition.
