Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada takes on Nicolas Jarry from Chile in this United Cup Group B fixture. It's the first group match for both countries and after this both have to take on Greece. The group winner goes through to the last eight and there's the possibility the country finishing second may qualify too. This is the second match in the Canada v Chile match in this hard court mixed team tournament. First up is Leyla Fernandez against Chile's Daniela Seguel who is only ranked 668th in the world. Canada will expect to go one up in this best-of-three so a win for Auger-Aliassime will clinch victory for them. 2023 hasn't been the best of years for the Canadian but the second six months did see some improvement. He won the Swiss indoor hard court tournament in October with wins including beating Holger Rune and Hubert Hurkacz. He's currently down at 29th in the rankings.

Nicolas Jarry is ten places higher in the rankings than his opponent. His current position of 19th is a career high for the 28-year-old. Jarry does owe his high ranking to his ability on clay courts. Like his opponent, he hasn't played since the Paris Masters. He didn't have such a good end to the 2023 season losing in the second round in each of his last two tournaments. That included the Swiss tournament that Auger-Aliassime won. His last quarter final was in Shanghai in mid-October. His last five matches have all seen a tie-break played so a bet on that stat coming up looks worth a side bet on. Our main prediction though is a win for Auger-Aliassime.
