Third seed Felix Auger-Aliassime and sixth seed Matteo Berrettini are set to battle it out in the quarter-finals of the Swiss Open. The winner here will play Stefanos Tsitsipas or Fabio Fognini for a place in the final. Here’s a look at the prediction for the match.

Auger-Aliassime is having an impressive clay season. He was able to end a run of three defeats with his second-round victory over Yannick Hanfmann. The Canadian had a disappointing grass season and will be relieved to be back on clay, a surface where he has now claimed 12 wins.

Auger-Aliassime won the last time he squared off with Berrettini – in Cincinnati last year. He has beaten the Italian twice before. The former world number six is currently placed 18th in the ATP.

Berrettini has the head-to-head advantage in this fixture, having won four times in six meetings with Auger-Aliassime. That includes twice in their last three encounters. This record, coupled with his fine Gstaad record will have him confident of proceeding to the semi-finals.

The Italian, playing in this ATP 250 event for a third time, has never failed to reach the final here. He won the title in 2018 in his debut and finished as runner-up two seasons ago. Berrettini won both his opening matches here in straight sets.

He defeated defending champion Pedro Cachin in the first round and then Daniel Elahi Galan. The win over Galan came by the loss of six games. This year’s Marrakech champion has now won seven of eight matches on clay and moved up to 69th in the live ranking.
