Second seed Carlos Alcaraz attempts to reach his third final in four tournaments. He faces the 13th-seeded Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime in the last four of this Olympic tournament. Read on to discover our prediction on who will reach the title decider.

The Spaniard has already won the French Open and Wimbledon in recent months. Now he’s bidding to win the Olympic men’s singles in his first time at the Games. He has an outstanding record on the clay in Paris. Alcaraz has won 20 of his last 22 matches at Roland Garros and all 11 played this year.

In this Olympic tournament he’s beaten Hady Habib, Tallon Griekspoor, Roman Safiullin and in Thursday’s quarter-final, Tommy Paul. It was a tough match at times against Paul and a tie-break was needed to win the second and deciding set.

He has a slender lead of 3-2 in previous matches against the Canadian. Auger-Aliassime won the first two matches which were both played in 2022. Since then, Alcaraz has won three in a row, all in straight sets. The most recent being at Roland Garros this year.

Auger-Aliassime only won seven games in three sets in that match. Before that match on clay, they'd met at Indian Wells this year with Alcaraz only dropping five games in two sets. The Canadian will be hoping for a better performance on Friday.

He's 19th in the world rankings but was down at 36th earlier this year. One clay court final in Munich has been reached by him in 2024. This week has seen him beat Marcos Giron, Maximiilian Marterer, fourth seed Daniil Medvedev and on Thursday, the sixth seed Casper Ruud in three sets.
