Third seed Carlos Alcaraz is up against 21st seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime in round four at Roland Garros. The winner goes into the quarter-finals against either ninth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas or unseeded Matteo Arnaldi. Alcaraz has never reached the final of this outdoor clay court Grand Slam but did reach the semi-finals in 2023. His year has been one in which he's had a battle with his fitness. One match in Rio saw him play just two games before having to retire injured. This is only his second clay court tournament in Europe this year, the other saw him get to the last eight in Madrid. Alcaraz has only dropped one set so far in this year's tournament and beat 27th seed Sebastian Korda in round three.

Felix Auger-Aliassime leads Carlos Alcaraz 3-2 in previous meetings. He won their first three matches in 2021 and 2022 but lost the last two. All their previous matches have been played on a hard court. The Canadian has climbed back up the rankngs this year. He did have a battle on his hands to be seeded at Roland Garros but a good clay season has taken him to 21st in the latest rankings. Auger-Aliassime is now up to 18th in the live rankings and a win here will take him up to 16th. He made it to the final of the Madrid Masters this year, though it was a fortunate run with opponents retiring and withdrawing from three of his matches. This is only the second time he's made it past round one at Roland Garros but did get to this stage two years ago. This week has seen him beat Yoshihito Nishioka, qualifier Henri Squire (in four sets) and 15th seed Ben Shelton for the loss of only seven games. We go for Auger-Aliassime to win a set in this match.
