Feliciano Lopez announced at the start of the year that this will be his final season as a professional tennis player. After 26 years as a pro, the Spaniard is retiring. Lopez has compiled a career record of 91 wins and 55 losses on grass and has won four titles on the surface. The Australian has been in excellent form in 2023 and arrives for this match having won 39 matches. This form has seen him play six challenger finals, winning three titles. Purcell hasn’t dominated on grass in his career and currently has a record of 17 wins and 13 losses on the surface. Last year was his best season on grass as he won eight of the 12 matches he played. He will hope to at least equal this feat this season. Purcell last played a Singles match almost four weeks ago, which was in the second round at the French Open.
