Federico Coria vs Thiago Monteiro Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Cordoba

Sixth seed Federico Coria and the unseeded Thiago Monteiro will face off for the third time in their careers in the first round of the 2023 Cordoba Open on Monday. The match will be played on an outdoor clay court. Monteiro has won all previous two meetings with Coria with the last being a straight-sets win in Cincinnati in 2020. Monteiro has appeared in each of the last three editions in Cordoba and reached the quarter-final in 2021. Last year he was eliminated in the first round. The Brazilian number one is having a slow start to 2023 and has won three of six matches played so far. He defeated China’s Jie Cui in straight sets to help Brazil win 4-0 against China in the Davis Cup in his last match before arriving in Cordoba. Monteiro was eliminated in the first round of the Australian Open by Constant Lestienne as well as in the first round in Auckland by Jiri Lehecka after going through the qualifying rounds.

Just like Monteiro, Federico Coria’s best finish in Cordoba is a quarter-final showing in 2021. The 30-year-old was also eliminated in the first round last year. He comes into the tournament off the back of Challenger success in Conception where he defeated eighth seed Timofey Skatov 2-0 in the final. That win was the perfect response after losing in the first round in Auckland and Melbourne. He has moved up two places to 67th on the live ranking. The winner in this clash will advance to face either Facundo Bagnis or Marco Cecchinato in the second round.
