Federico Coria vs Christian Garin Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Bastad Open

All but the top two seeds have been knocked out of the Swedish Open clay court tournament. Second seeded Cristian Garin from Chile takes on unseeded Federico Coria. The winner of this match faces either Yannick Hanfmann or Arthur Rinderkneck in the semi-final. The most likely opponent in the final is top seed Casper Ruud. Garin is the world number 18 and that's his highest ever rankings. Winning this tournament would take him into the top 16. Garin won a clay court tournament in Santiago in February and also reached the last eight in both Estoril and Madrid (where he beat Daniil Medvedev) showing his love of the surface. Medvedev got his revenge at Roland Garros beating Garin in the last sixteen. He also got to the last sixteen at Wimbledon beating three players ranked outside the top 100 before a straight sets loss to Novak Djokovic. This week has seen him Pedro Martinez in straight sets.

Federico Coria is the world number 77 but 73rd in the live rankings. Causing an upset here would see him go into the top 70. He started the year 91st but at one point last month, slipped down to 103rd. He was soon back in the top 100 though after winning a clay court Challenger tournament in the Czech Republic, though no top 150 ranked players were beaten. His good form continued with a run to the final of an Italian Challenger event but everyone beaten had a ranking below 250. Coria lost in the first round at Wimbledon but then got to another Challenger final, this time in Austria. He's had wins over Francisco Cerundolo and Marco Cecchinato (losing the first set) to get this far. Coria struggles against players ranked higher than him and Garin should be able to win this, possibly in straight sets.
