Barcelona will be at home to welcome Virtus Bologna in the highlight fixture of round 24 of EuroLeague basketball. The two teams are neck and neck in the standings with Barcelona in second edging third-placed Bologna on points differential. Barcelona have won 15 times thus far and have registered 11 of their victories at home where they have lost just once. Roger Grimau’s men, who have accumulated 30 points, have however had a poor run recently in the competition. Barca have lost their last two games in Europe with the most recent being a 74-70 loss in Milan. The Spanish heavyweights are coming off a 102-94 victory over Palencia in Liga ACB. Barcelona are averaging 82.4 points a game in the EuroLeague.

Bologna are tied on points with Barcelona. They have also won 15 matches but recently in the competition they have faltered. Luca Banchi’s men have won only one of their last four games in Europe. Last time out they were again defeated on the road as they fell 88-75 to Fenerbahce. Seven of Virtus’ eight defeats in the EuroLeague have come away from home. They will however arrive for this match confident of a win. The Italian side has won two of the recent three meetings with Barcelona. They won 80-75 in the reverse fixture back in December. Bologna could be without Alessandro Pajola for this match. The guard did not finish last weekend’s domestic matchup with a yet-to-be-revealed issue. He scored seven points in his team’s 101-89 victory over Napoli.
