Facundo Diaz Acosta vs Federico Coria Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Buenos Aires

Federico Coria is in the main draw at the Argentina Open and serves off on Tuesday in the first round against wildcard Facundo Diaz Acosta. Coria is coming straight from reaching the final of the recently concluded Cordoba Open. This match is the second meeting between the two, Coria won the first 2-1 in Ecuador three months ago. Coria is having a terrific season that has seen him make two finals already resulting in one title. He won the Challenger in Concepcion but was unable to get the better of compatriot Sebastian Baez in the final in Cordoba. A disappointing start to the match with Baez saw him lose the first set 6-1. He would rally to take the next set 6-3 but was pegged back again in the final set 6-3. Coria reached the quarterfinals at last year’s championship and lost in straight sets to eventual champion Casper Ruud. The world number 49 will be hoping to go one better this year at the 250 tournament and with his two finals already in the year, it isn’t beyond him.

Facundo Acosta also played in the Challenger in Concepcion but was forced to retire in the second set of his semifinal matchup with Timofey Skatov. He began his season in Noumea where he reached the quarterfinals. He would play next at the Australian Open where he won his first-round qualifying match 2-0 against world number 160 Gijs Brouwer but was eliminated in the next round in three sets by world number 134 Yannick Hanfmann. Acosta made his ATP main draw debut at this very same tournament back in 2020 as a wildcard. He has never progressed past the first round in his previous two appearances and is appearing for the third time as a wildcard. Acosta is up to 186th in the live ranking and can move up 11 places with a win. The winner here will proceed to take on second seed Cameron Norrie in the second round.
