Facundo Bagnis vs Luciano Darderi Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Cordoba

The 2024 Cordoba Open final will be contested by Facundo Bagnis and Luciano Darderi. This is the first time in the history of the event that two qualifiers are competing in the championship match. Facundo Bagnis has advanced to only the second tour final of his career. He will be hoping things turn out differently than they did in Santiago in 2021 where he finished as runner-up. The Argentine has competed in 37 finals across the tour, challenger, and ITF circuits and surprisingly all have been on clay. He has won 22 of those. Bagnis defeated last season’s Cordoba runner-up Federico Coria in straight sets in the semifinals. This was his 12th win in 14 outings this year. All 12 wins have been on clay. Advancing to the final has propelled him up a massive 69 places in the live ranking to number 138. Bagnis, whose best result here was a semifinal finish in 2021, defeated Darderi last season on clay at the French Open.

Luciano Darderi defeated Bagnis also on clay in their first career meeting. This was in the challenger circuit in 2022. He will be hoping for another similar outcome as he targets to win his first tour title. The Italian has advanced to his first-ever tour final. He defeated defending champion Sebastian Baez in the semifinals in three sets. This was his seventh win in nine outings this year and all seven victories have come on clay. Clay is Darderi’s favoured surface to play on and he has won over 100 matches on the surface. He has however not had the best of luck when competing in a championship match on clay. The 21-year-old has competed in seven finals in his career in the lower levels and has lost four times. Three of those have been finals played on clay. Advancing to the final has propelled him to the ATP top 100 for the first time and sits 94th in the live ranking.
