Fabio Fognini vs Thiago Seyboth Wild Prediction & Betting Tips - Challenger Genoa Open
by Devesh Jaganath | in Tennis Predictions
World number 87 Thiago Seyboth Wild will take on 131st-ranked Fabio Fognini in the final of the Genoa Challenger tournament on Sunday. Wild seems to have put his US Open disappointment well behind him and is now in the second Challenger tournament final in the space of a month. The previous was the Como Challenger event which he won, beating Pedro Martinez in three sets. Here in Italy, he beat Riccardo Bonadio, Andrea Picchione, and Stefano Napolitano in the previous first three rounds, dropping only one set. Andrea Vavassori retired injured in the semi-final midway through the first set. The Brazilian has now reached five finals this year and won three of them. All his title wins were on the clay as well. Wild is now 58-18 for the year and 55-16 on the dirt. He is now at his peak ranking and is the favourite in this match.
Meanwhile, Fognini will be competing in his first final of the year. The Italian spent most of the first half of the year competing on the ATP circuit. Between January and April, he had not managed to get past the second round of any competition. However, he found some form at the Rome Masters and carried it into Roland Garros, reaching the round of 32 in both tournaments. During that time, he managed wins over the likes of Andy Murray and, perhaps more notably, Felix Auger Aliassime. He then stepped onto the Challenger circuit and reached the semi-final at the Zug Challenger event and the final eight in San Marino. Clearly, the switch to the Challenger arena is paying dividends, but can he now go on to secure his first piece of silverware for the year? He beat Thiago Monteiro fairly comfortably in the last round and has not dropped a set in the tournament yet. The Italian is 16-15 for the season and 16-10 on the clay surface.

Our Fabio Fognini vs Thiago Seyboth Wild Prediction
Despite Fognini’s time spent on the ATP circuit this season, he hasn’t done enough to confidently back him to pull off an upset here. The Brazilian, meanwhile, seems to be in good rhythm at the moment, and having spent less than an hour on the court in the last round should also play in his favour. We fancy he will lift his fourth title for the year in this one. Our Fabio Fognini vs Thiago Seyboth Wild prediction: Thiago Seyboth Wild wins the match.
