Fabio Fognini is the ninth seed for the French Open and is on a collision course to meet Alexander Zverev in the last 16 if he can win this third round tie against Roberto Bautista Agut. He has had to go to four sets in both of his opening two matches in this tournament, though he was never behind in either of them. Fognini has only once reached the quarter-finals of this tournament and that was back in 2011. Since then, he's only got to the fourth round on one occasion and that was last year when beating 16th seed Kyle Edmund before losing a five-setter to third-seeded Marin Cilic. This year saw him win the Monte Carlo Masters on clay beating three of the top 16 on the way including wins over Rafael Nadal and Alexander Zverev, currently second and third in the ATP rankings.

Roberto Bautista Agut has only dropped 16 games in his two wins over unseeded opposition on his way to this third round match. He has only made it into one Grand Slam quarter final in his career and that was at this year's Australian Open. In Paris, the best he's done is two fourth round appearances in 2016 and 2017, His 2019 clay court season has seen him reach the semi-finals in Munich and the last eight in Lyon. In Rome and Madrid, he only won one match and the tip here is to go for Fognini to get the win.
