In-form 24th seed Nicolas Jarry takes on unseeded Fabian Marozsan for a place in the Indian Wells third round. Whoever wins this outdoor hard court match could face 15th seed Karen Khachanov in the next round. Jarry was ranked 24th at the start of this tournament and is 39th in the Live ATP Race. The Chilean has had recent success on the South American clay court season. He made it to the final in Buenos Aires and in his most recent  tournament got to the last eight in Santiago. He has shown some good form on hard courts too. Both of his singles matches were won in the United Cup team tournament. He then made it to the quarter finals in Adelaide but lost in round one of the Australian Open.

Fabian Marozsan was in 58th position when this Masters 1000 tournament got underway. Round one saw him get a straight sets win over lucky loser Jurij Rodionov losing only five games. This year didn't begin too well for him on hard courts with two of his first three matches being lost. Better form was shown in the Australian Open where he reached the third round before losing to Taylor Fritz. That was the first of three consecutive defeats for the Hungarian. His inconsistent form has continued and he's only won two matches in a tournament once this year. Our prediction here is a win for Jarry.
