Exeter Chiefs look to continue their impressive home form when hosting Munster in the European Rugby Champions Cup. They are second in Pool C with their opponents in fourth place after the first set of games. The Chiefs are best known for their home results but last weekend began their European Rugby Champions Cup campaign with a 19-18 win at Toulon. They certainly didn't look like getting a rare away win when going into the break at Toulon trailing 14-5. An excellent second half performance saw them not concede any more points and edge Toulon out by a single point thanks to a 78th minute try and a conversion two minutes later. Exeter are sixth in the English Premiership with five wins and three losses. Four of those victories have come at home with 162 points scored, 41 more than any other side in that league.
Munster were only able to draw 17-17 at home with Bayonne last weekend. That was even more disappointing for them as they led 14-3 at the break after scoring two tries in the first 20 minutes. The Irish side are fourth in the United Rugby Championship with 23 points, six behind the leaders Leinster. Four of their seven games have been won but none of them have been achieved on the road. Three away games have seen them draw once (at Benetton) and lose their last two at Ulster and Leinster. We back Exeter Chiefs to continue their good run of form at home and win this match.
