Eugénie Bouchard vs Iga Swiatek Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA French Open

Eugenie Bouchard has made it to the third round of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time since the 2017 Australian Open. The Canadian hasn't made it to a fourth round since the 2015 US Open but can she get past Iga Swiatek? Bouchard had to be given a wild card to play at Roland Garros. Back in 2014, she reached two Grand Slam semi-finals (including this tournament) and lost in the Wimbedon final. Since then, the Canadian seems to be more famous for her Instagram photos and other social media posts. Last year saw her lose 11 games in a row and she sunk to 262 in the world. 2020 began with a quarter final appearance in Auckland but she then failed to qualify for the Australian Open. There has been some improvement though with a quarter final in the Prague Open and then a run to the final in Istanbul, both tournaments being played on clay. Good form has also been shown in World TeamTennis and she came into this tournament with her ranking up to 162. Bouchard had a straight sets win in the first round, but then had to come from behind to defeat Daria Gavrilova.  

Her opponent is ranked 54th in the world and the 19-year-old has shown impressive form so far in Paris. The first round saw her take on 15th seeded Marketa Vondrousova and she won that for the loss of just three games. Another straight sets victory followed in the second round as Hsieh Su-Wei was beaten, this time with only five games lost. Swiatek reached the last sixteen of the Australian Open earlier this year and the last 32 of the US Open, losing to eventual losing finalist Victoria Azarenka. Last year saw her reach the fourth round in Paris where she lost to Simona Halep, winning just one game. She became only the second player born in this century to make it to round two of a Grand Slam. Revenge (or at least a much better performance) could be on the cards as Halep is likely to face the winner of this match in the next round. Bouchard is playing better but doesn't seem to be on the same level as her opponent. Go for Swiatek to win this match.
