The 2019 Rugby World Cup began in late September, though it feels a lot longer than that. The wait for the final is seemingly endless for both England and South Africa as they prepare to face each other in the Final on Sunday. England beat New Zealand in the semi-finals putting on a tremendous display. They dethroned the world champions but that will mean little if they don't go on to become world champions for only the second time in their history. They will be after revenge after losing to South Africa in the 2007 final.
England have won all of their games in this tournament and have rarely looked like losing. They haven't always been playing at their best but England have put in a series of solid performances, especially against Argentina, Australia and New Zealand. Their opponents won't forget that their first match in this World Cup was a loss to New Zealand. England have done what they couldn't and that's another reason why England have to be considered the worthy favourites. They will need to show utmost discipline and not concede too many penalties. Recent performances against South Africa have produced two wins home and away. Before those victories, South Africa had won four of the last five but the tide has turned. Back England to win this match and become world champions.

This is a repeat of the 2007 final but there should be a different result this time. England lost that final but come into this one in top form after that fantastic performance against New Zealand. South Africa lost to the All-Blacks and only just made it past Wales in their semi-final. If England can repeat that performance from last weekend, then they can be confidently backed to beat their opponents and lift the trophy.
