England and Pakistan meet at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in the final of the T20 Cricket World Cup. Both teams are bidding to join the West Indies as the only two time winners of the title. England have only suffered one defeat in the tournament, going down in a shock loss to Ireland in a rain affected match. They have since been in excellent form but saved their best performance for the semi-final where they annihilated one of the pre-tournament favorites India by 10 wickets. They chased down a fairly formidable score of 169 within 16 overs with both openers Alex Hales and Captain Jos Butler in destructive form. England will be sweating on the fitness of paceman Mark Wood after he the missed semi-final although his replacement Chris Jordan performed admirably.

Pakistan pulled of a Houdini act to qualify from their group after they lost to India and Zimbabwe in the group stage. There was a lot of criticism of their premier batsmen, Mohammed Rizwan and Babar Azam not scoring runs in the tournament but they came good when it mattered the most. They were instrumental in Pakistan comfortably chasing down New Zealand's total in the semi-final. The men from the Sub Continent seem to be peaking at the right time with their main strike bowler Shaheen Afridi also finding form with six wickets in his last two matches. Pakistan have a top heavy batting lineup and if they can fire in this match then it will be very difficult to stop them.
