After two straight defeats, England were in deep trouble in this ICC World Cup. They had slipped to fifth place in the table behind a resurgent Pakistan. The English side needed to get back into winning ways and did so by defeating India on Sunday. That win took them back into the final qualifying spot but they will still want to win this final group game against New Zealand. A defeat would mean Pakistan would overtake them if beating Bangladesh in their final game. It was England's batting line-up that got them the win over India with Johnny Bairstow hitting a century. Jason Roy and Ben Stokes both made vital contributions. The weather forecast is good for this match, which is almost a shame as an abandoned match might not hurt either side and would definitely see New Zealand qualify.

New Zealand had been unbeaten in this tournament but have lost their last two games against Pakistan and Australia. In terms of bowling a lot of pressure is on Lockie Ferguson who has 17 wickets in this tournament. England's confidence will have been boosted by the win over India.
