England vs New Zealand Prediction & Betting Tips - One Day International
by Devesh Jaganath | in Cricket Predictions
England and New Ealand will face off in the fourth and final ODI this Friday. The hosts currently lead the series 2-1. England were immense in the last match and took the lead in this series in fine style. They posted an excellent 368, displaying Bazball at its finest, which the Kiwis had no answer to. Skipper Ben Stokes was once again the pick of the batsmen for the English, smashing 182 in just 124 balls, while Dawid Malan came up just short of a century. Liam Livingston and Chris Woakes took three wickets each. Livingston has also scored three half-centuries in the series already. England have now won four of their last seven ODIs and are up to fourth in the ICC ODI rankings. They are the favourites to win this one.
Meanwhile, New Zealand will be hoping to bounce back from a humbling defeat in the last match. The Kiwis were bundled out for just 187 runs in 39 overs, with only Glenn Phillips registering a score of any note. He made 72 off 76 balls, but the standout for the New Zealanders was Trent Boult. The paceman took 5/51 in 9.1 overs and has taken eight wickets in his last two starts. The visitor's ODI record has been relatively poor of late when compared to their T20 form. In their last eight 50-over matches, New Zealand have only won two matches. They were beaten 4-1 by Pakistan earlier in the year. As a result, they have slipped to fifth in the rankings and will need a huge performance to win this one.
