England vs Fiji Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup
by | in Rugby Predictions
The wait seems to have gone on forever but finally the Rugby Union World Cup begins on Friday. England are the host nation and kick off the tournament with a Group A game against Fiji. Definitely the lull before the storm with Wales and Australia waiting in the wings. England won their final warm-up game 21-13 against Ireland and have named an unchanged side for this opening game. Playing well for the whole game has been a problem in recent weeks and that has to be sorted out if they want to come anywhere near winning the World Cup. They can get away with that against Fiji though but a good solid performance with plenty of tries scored is the order of the day here. Confidence can breed better performances against the tougher sides. Fiji have only made it to the quarter finals of the World Cup on two occasions, a third doesn't look at all likely this year. They are ranked ninth in the world and haven't had a win over a top team since beating Wales in the 2007 World Cup. Fiji have lost all five games against England. Warm-up games have seen wins over Canada, Japan and Samoa but this is much tougher.
