England vs Fiji Prediction & Betting Tips - Test Matchs

As part of their final preparation for the 2023 Rugby World Cup, England and Fiji will face off this week in a Test match on Saturday at Twickenham Stadium. The hosts are currently ranked sixth in the world, while the visitors are now up to ninth. England come into this match off the back of a 29-10 loss to Ireland at the Aviva Stadium last week. That was their fourth loss in their last five matches, with their only win coming over Wales the previous week. England had a very poor Six Nations by their own standards, finishing in fourth place. During that competition, they lost the Calcutta Cup to Scotland and only managed wins over Wales and Italy. Looking further back, they have only won three matches in their last ten and have not beaten a side ranked above them in 22 matches. The last time they beat a higher-ranked side was in November 2021. However, on their home patch and against lower-ranked opposition here, they are the favourites to win this one.
Meanwhile, Fiji saw their four-match winning streak brought to an end last week against France. The visitors beat Japan, Samoa, Tonga, and the French Barbarians in their preceding matches to secure the Pacific Nations Cup title. That run of results helped them overtake Wales in the world rankings. However, like their opponents, Fiji have failed to beat any team ranked above them in over 20 matches. The last time Fiji played England was back in 2016, and they suffered a 58-15 defeat. They have faced each other on four occasions since 1999 and England have won every time. The visitors are clear outsiders to get a win in London this weekend.

England are a long way form the side they were when they won the Rugby World Cup back in 2003. However, they should still have more than enough experience and class to secure a win here on their home patch. While they will be in search of a win by a big margin, we will settle for a fairly safe option of giving the visitors just an eight-point headstart. We feel the hosts will be able to overturn that relatively easily. Our England vs Fiji prediction: Handicap England -8.
