The top two teams in Group 1 face each other on Saturday. Both England and Australia have won their two opening games, so a perfect record has to be lost by someone. These two countries will be battling it out in the months ahead as Australia defend the Ashes. However, at T20 it’s England who have the better side. They are the number one ranked team in the world, while Australia are yet to win the T20 World Cup. England have been highly impressive in their opening two games against the West Indies and Bangladesh. They have excelled both with the bat and particularly with the ball and will again be a major threat. Australia have also played well in this tournament. They have had wins over South Africa
and Sri Lanka (who play each other on the same day) and batsmen such as Warner and Smith are in good form. They do not have a good T20 record against England, unlike in test cricket. This is a repeat of the 2010 T20 World Cup final, won by England. That’s the only time Australia have made the final of this event. They have shown improvement though but can they cope against England’s bowling attack? England have the momentum, back them to get the win and all but seal their place in the semi-finals.
