The round of 32 in the 2023 BNP Parisbas Open is set to continue on Monday and in our featured match we will see Beatriz Haddad Maia take on Emma Raducnan for the first time in their careers. Maia recieved a first round bye in the tournament and found herself up against Katerina Sijiakova in her first match, which was a back and forth duel with the Brazilian losing the first set but recovering to win the final set 6-3. Maia's best finish of the year came in Doha where she reached the quarter final before falling to Jessica Pegula in straight sets. Maia began this tournament ranked 13th but is up to 12th in the live rankings which equals her career high. Of her 15 matches this year, ten have been won.

Following a solid first round win against Danka Kovinic  with only five games dropped, world number 77 Emma Raducanu had a much tougher task in round two as the Brit faced the 20th seeded Magda Linette, and showed her class overcoming the Pole in straight sets. It was a good win as at one stage Raducanu was trailing in the first set that was eventually won on a tie-break. Raducanu's last competitive match came back in January at the Australian Open where she reached the round of 64. Since then the former US Open champion has had problems with a wrist injury and tonsilitis. Those are her latest problems and they've caused her to play much less than she would have liked over the last six months. After almost two months out, the Brit looks fitter but there's still a concern over her wrist injury and she was icing it during the match against Linette.
