Emil Ruusuvuori vs Marcos Giron Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Geneva Open

Emil Ruusuvouri and Marcos Giron meet in round one of the Geneva Open. Both are unseeded for this outdoor clay court tournament in which Novak Djokovic is the top seed. Whoever wins this match will be up against either seventh seed Fabio Marozsan or unseeded Alexander Shevchenko. Ruusuvouri is 66th in the live rankings but was as high as 37th last year. His most recent tournament was the Challenger Tour event held in Turin. He beat the eighth seeded Thiago Seyboth Wild in round one after losing the first set. His run ended in the next round as he lost in straight sets to Federico Passaro who went on to win the tournament. Ruusuvouri entered that tournament after he lost in round one of the Italian Open. That defeat came at the hands of his opponent in this match. He won the first set against Giron but lost the next two. Ruusuvouri is really struggling for form with just one win in his last eight matches and his last five on the ATP Tour have all been lost.

Marcos Giron has won all three of his previous matches against Ruusuvouri. The match played in Rome is their only meeting on a clay court. Giron is 48th in the live rankings and after beating Ruusuvouri in the Italian Open,he lost to Andrey Rublev but did take a set off the fourth seed. The American needed that good form in Rome as he'd been beaten in his first match in his previous three tournaments, all on clay. He did make it to the last eight of the US clay court championships. We tip him to beat Ruusuvouri and make it into round two in Geneva.
