Emil Ruusuvuori vs Daniel Evans Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Qatar Open
by Kennedy Kechula in Tennis Predictions
The ATP 2023 Doha Open serves off this week with one of the first-round matches lined up seeing sixth seed Daniel Evans and the unseeded Emil Ruusuvuori face off on Monday on an outdoor hard court. It will be the first-ever meeting between the two and the winner will advance to play either the qualifier Damir Dzumhur or the unseeded Jiri Lehecka. Ruusuvuri has been inconsistent to start the season and comes to this match on the back of back-to-back losses. The Finn world number 52 was eliminated in the first round at the Rotterdam Open by world number three Stefanos Tsitsipas and in the quarterfinals in Montpellier by eventual finalist Maxime Cressy. He has won four matches so far in 2023 with two of those coming in the Davis Cup.
Daniel Evans is also struggling with consistency to start the season and has lost more matches than he has won. The Briton is ranked 29th in the world and also comes to Doha on the back of two successive losses. He lost in three sets to world number 256 Nicolas Mejia in the Davis Cup and before that he lost in the Australian Open third round to Andrey Rublev in straight sets. He has won three matches with two coming in Melbourne. Evans has gone past the first round in Doha in each of his last two appearances and will be keen to make it three in a row against a player making his second appearance at the 250 tournament.
