Wild card Ana Bogdan (runner-up here last year) faces seventh-seeded Elisabetta Cocciaretto in round two of the indoor hard court Transylvania Open. The winner goes into the quarter-finals but who will qualify? Here's our match prediction.

Third seed Peyton Stearns could be faced in the last eight. Bogdan is the world number 120 and that's sixty places below her opponent. In the WTA Live Race though, it's Bogdan who is 15 places ahead of Cocciaretto. 

Neither player has set the world alight this year though with Bogdan in 125th and Cocciaretto 140th. Bogdan beat Jodie Burrage in straight sets to reach the second round of this tournament. Before that, she'd lost in round one in Brisbane (after winning two qualifiers) and losing in the Australian Open qualifying rounds.

These two players have had a couple of previous matches and are 1-1 but both were played on clay. Cocciaratto won the most recent one in 2024.

Elisabetta Cocciaretto has also had her struggles this year. Her first three matches of 2025 were all lost and without a set being won. A first win of the year finally came in round one here with a straight sets victory over Irina-Camella Begu.
