Elina Svitolina is seeded eighth for this tournament. Her only dropped set to date has been in the third round against Maria Sakkari. Despite her high seeding, this is the first time Svitolina has made it to the Wimbledon quarter finals and it’s her fifth in all Grand Slam tournaments. It’s a far better performance than last year when she lost in the first round of this tournament. She has only had one previous meeting with her opponent. That was in the quarter-final of a tournamen in Qatar earlier this year with Svitolina winning in straight sets.

Karolina Muchova is ranked 68th in the world and looking at her profile on the WTA tennis website, they haven't even got a photograph of her. The 22 year-old lost in qualifying for this tournament last year and her previous best in a Grand Slam event is a last 32 at the 2018 US Open. Muchova showed some sign of her ability on this surface when reaching the quarter final at Surbiton a couple of years ago. The daughter of Czech footballer Josef Mucha has probably achieved a few of her goals this week in getting to this quarter final. She's had to do it the hard way with a victory over 20th seed Annet Kontaveit in round three, followed by coming from a set down to beat third seed Karolina Pliskova on Monday winning 13-11 in the final set. That was her first win over a top ten player. Svitolina is in good form coming into this match and had a far easier match on Monday. Go for the eighth seed to get the win here.
