Top seed Elina Svitoliina has been making smooth progress in the Open de Rouen. To reach the final, the world number 18 must defeat unseeded Elena-Gabriela Ruse. Here's our match prediction.

For the winner, there's a final in this indoor clay court tournament against either unseeded Suzy Lamens or the third seed Olga Danilovic. Svitolina has won both of her previous matches against Ruse and without dropping a set. The most recent of their matches was on this surface two years ago.

Svitolina is 15th in the WTA Live Race and that's nearly 50 places higher than her opponent. To reach this quarter-final, the 30-year-old has had three straight sets victories over unseeded players, most recently Jessica Bouzas Mineiro.

Elena-Gabriela Ruse is 85th in the live rankings and has won 14 of her 19 matches this year. Her best form has come in doubles tournaments and last year saw her get to the semi-finals of the French Open.

She also got to the last eight in the doubles here but lost and can now concentrate on her singles. The 27-year-old has won three matches with one set dropped but Svitolina is the first seed she has faced.
