Elina Svitolina, the 27th seed at the US Open, will play unseeded compatriot Anhelina Kalinina in the second round. This will be their second meeting this year and we have a prediction for the match. She would halt this slump with a three-set victory over fellow unseeded player Oceane Dodin in the last round. Her 22nd win in 43 outings this season allowed her to tie her best-ever record at the US Open. Kalinina has never won more than one match at this major and has lost three times in the second round. This year, she lost in the first round in the opening three Grand Slams of the season. Advancing to this round has bumped her five places up to 50th in the live ranking.
