Elias Ymer vs Lorenzo Musetti Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Hamburg Open

Third seeded Lorenzo Musetti begins his defence of the Hamburg European Open. This is an outdoor clay court tournament and Musetti takes on qualifier Elias Ymer in round one. The winner of this match will face either unseeded Juan Pablo Virallas or qualifier Thiago Seyboth Wild in the last 16. After the sixth seeded Tomas Martin Etcheverry was beaten in the first round. no seeded players stand between Musetti and reaching the last four. The Italian started this tournament ranked 18th in the world. Last week saw him get to the semi-finals of the Swedish Open clay court tournament, losing to Casper Ruud who is the top seed in this Hamburg European Open. Musetti has got to at least the last eight in three of his last four tournaments.  His only appearance in a final this year was in the United Cup team event held in January.

Elias Ymer is down at 186th in the latest world ranking list. Getting through the qualifying rounds in Hamburg has taken him up to 171st in the live list. The 27-year-old Swede has never been in the top 100, his career high ranking being 105th achieved five years ago. Ymer won both his qualifying matches in straight sets and that included getting a win over eighth seed Ivan Gakhov. It's an improvement on last week when he lost in the first qualifying round of the Swedish Open to Leo Borg who was ranked 447th at the time. Ymer has had some success on clay this year with a Challenger Tour quarter final and the last 16 reached in Marrakech. He's only beaten two top 100 ranked player this year in clay events. Beating Musetti looks well beyond him and we go for the third seed to win in straight sets.
