Simona Halep is the only player in the women’s singles who has won a Grand Slam title. The 17th seed won this title in 2019 and this is the first time that she’s played at Wimbledon since then. Last year saw her out injured but back fit again, the Romanian is showing everyone just how good a grass court player she is. The last four has been reached without a set being dropped and it’s building on the two semi-finals reached in her grass court warm-up events. Halep has put in one impressive performance in a row, particularly when demolishing Paula Badosa in round four and then Amanda Anisimova in the quarter finals. Halep has had three previous matches against Rybakina and leads 2-1. The only loss was in 2019 when the Romanian retired injured in the first set. Since then, Halep has had wins in the 2020 Dubai final and in the last 32 of last year's US Open, both matches going to three sets.

17th seeded Elena Rybakina is the first Kazakhstan player to reach a Wimbledon singles semi-final. This is only the second time she’s played in the main draw at Wimbledon but grass is a surface she excels on. Last year saw her reach the fourth round and she’s within one match of the final now. This is her first time in a Grand Slam semi-final, though she did get to this stage in the 2020 Olympics. It’s just her luck that this and the Olympic tournament doesn’t have any ranking points, else she’d be higher than 23rd on the list. Rybakina has been impressive on her way to the last four with only one set dropped (against Tomljanovic in the last eight), though this is her first match against a seeded player. Halep is in fantastic form at present and she can get the win here. Have a side bet on her doing so in straight sets.
