Elena Rybakina vs Marta Kostyuk Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA US Open

Fourth seeded Elena Rybakina faces unseeded Marta Kostyuk in the US Open first one. A second round match against either Panna Uvardy or Asla Tomljanovic awaits the winner. Rybakina will be wanting to improve her US Open record. Never has she got past the third round of this outdoor hard court Grand Slam and lost in the first round in 2022. This year has seen her get past that stage in each of the three Grand Slams that have been held. Rybakina lost in the Australian Open final, the third round at Roland Garros (where she withdrew) and the quarter final at Wimbledon. Recent performances have seen her get to the last four in Montreal. 

Marta Kostyuk will want to repeat the result in her one previous meeting with the fourth seed. The pair met in Adelaide at the start of this year with Kostyuk winning in three sets. Later in the year, the current world number 39 won the ATX Open title in Houston. Kostyuk hasn't built on that maiden title and has lost each of her last three matches all on hard courts which is the surface for this tournament. The quarter final was reached in Washington with wins over Bianca Andreescu and Caroline Garcia. Inconsistency is her biggest problem and that was shown in the Western & Southern Open which was her most recent tournament. Only three games were won as she lost in her first match against Jasmine Paolini. Kostyuk has the talent but doesn't always show it, that's why we go for Rybakina to get the win here.
