Second seed Aryna Sabalenka and 21st seed Ekaterina Alexandrova will on Monday meet in the fourth round at Wimbledon. The winner will advance to the quarterfinals where a tie with either 25th seed Madison Keys or the qualifier Mirra Andreeva awaits. Alexandrova defeated Dalma Galfi in straight sets in the last round, losing just four games. It was her second 2-0 win of the tournament and moved her up to 20th in the live ranking. The Russian has again dominated on grass where 10 of her 23 wins for the season have come. Having defeated Sabalenka three times, once on grass, she will be confident of advancing past this round for the first time.

Aryna Sabalenka has won twice against Alexandrova in the five encounters between them to date. Despite neither success being on grass, she will be confident of winning here as she has been exceptional so far in 2023. Sabalenka has won 38 of the 45 matches she has played with four of her victories coming on grass. The latest of which was the 2-0 win over Anna Blinkova in the third round. The current world number two will assume the top spot in the WTA if she manages to win the tournament. She won the Australian Open earlier this year for her first Grand Slam success and made it to the French Open semifinals. Sabalenka’s best result at Wimbledon was achieved two seasons ago when she made it to the semifinals.
