Both countries are though to the main round of the Men's World Handball Championship. Sweden top the group and look to clinch it when taking on second placed Egypt. With points won against qualifiers being carried forward to the next round, both countries will be keen to add to the two points already won. Egypt are the hosts and began their campaign with a 35-29 win over Chile. They added to that win with a 38-19 victory over late entrants North Macedonia. That will have given them more confidence as they bid to reach the target of a last eight spot that their coach has set them.

Egypt face a tougher task here though as they take on Sweden. They started this group with a win over North Macedonia by a 12 goal margin. Up against Chile, they were again in top form, winning by 41-26. It was a tight first half with Sweden only four points clear at the break but they put in a dominant performance in the second half. They will be looking for more goals from Lucas Pellas who scored 12 goals in the win over Chile. Sweden have a strong side but so have Egypt and there is a lot at stake here points wise. Go for Sweden to win on a +2 handicap.
