The Pharaohs from Egypt look to get a second win in Group B of the Olympic Men’s Handball tournament. They face a tough match against current world handball champions Denmark, what will be our prediction for this game?

The Egyptians took on Hungary in their opening match on Saturday. They won the match by three goals but had to withstand a Hungarian second-half comeback. They’ll be hoping for more goals from Ahmed Adel and Yahia Omar who both scored nine goals in that match.

Egypt just missed out on a bronze medal at the last Olympics losing to eventual gold medal winners France in the semi-finals and then Spain in the bronze medal play-off. Last year’s World Championships saw them finish seventh. So far in 2024, they’ve won the African Championships, the third time in a row they’ve lifted that trophy.

They’d gone three games without a win before getting that victory over Hungary on Saturday.

Denmark got their campaign off to a great start with a victory over defending Olympic champions France. They won the match by an eight-goal margin with a strong second-half performance after only leading by one goal at the break.

The Danes have won three successive world championships and were the Olympic gold medalists in 2016. Three years ago in Tokyo, they only just failed to win the gold, losing to France in the final. They were also runners-up in the Euros this year, again being beaten by France.

Denmark are unbeaten in six games since that Euros defeat by France. They've won their last five matches against Egypt and we tip them to win this on a -5.5 goals handicap.
